Project planning and execution of diesel engine design activities to meet emission regulations and product requirements.
Work with vehicle engineering, application engineering, OEM marketing, the engine factory, and suppliers to determine their needs and incorporate them into the engine design.
Inspect components from field use or validation testing, perform root cause investigation, and determine design improvements necessary to improve overall engine reliability
Work with product verification and validation group to define and oversee completion of activities to qualify the design.
Provide technical oversight and guidance to the engine design team including review of proposed designs and ensuring that robust design practices are used.
Design and development of specific engine components in support of overall program.
Provide coaching, career development advice and performance evaluation to design team members.


Education



Bachelor's of Science Degree in Mechanical or Agricultural Engineering, or equivalent experience.





Required Skills and Experience

Experience in engine design.
Pro-E experience or experience with other 3D Solid Modeling software.
Data organization, analysis and decision making.
Communication and coaching.
Project management experience.



Desired Skills and Experience

Experience in diesel engine design.
Risk analysis and root cause analysis skills.
Engine development/testing experience.
